Kubanychbek unified BRAVE CF’s lightweight world title in historic event in Serbia and was welcome by hundreds of fans at Bishkek airport.
The red carpet was rolled out for new BRAVE Combat Federation lightweight champion Abdisalam “Omok” Kubanychbek when he touched down in his homeland Kyrgyzstan with the golden strap placed comfortably over his right shoulder.
Kubanychbek earned this hero’s welcome for being crowned Kyrgyzstan’s first-ever BRAVE CF undisputed world champion after he beat No. 1 contender Dagestan’s Kamil Magomedov in a hard-fought five-round championship bout at BRAVE CF 69 in Belgrade, Serbia, this past weekend.
His achievement ignited the pride of hundreds of Kyrgyz citizens who lined the corridors of the Manas International Airport as they waited patiently for their champion. As Kubanychbek exited the check-out area, he was embraced by followers, fans, friends and family who served him traditional Kyrgyz bread and other treats indigenous to the Central Asian nation.
The undisputed champion showed class and poise as he conversed and took selfies with fans before he and his coaching team were donned in beautiful traditional cloaks and Ak-kalpak felt hats for their final team pictures at the airport. Kubanychbek came full circle in Kyrgyzstan today as it was in Bishkek where he made his promotional debut at BRAVE CF 32 in December 2019.
That night, “Omok” successfully opened his BRAVE CF account before going on a seven-fight unbeaten streak all the way to the title. Today – four years on – he returned home as the king of the lightweight divisions, earning the reputation of “the most feared man” on the BRAVE CF roster.
